Terms of service

The rules for using usernamelookup.com, its accounts, subscriptions, API and monitoring.

1. The provider and these terms

The usernamelookup.com service is provided by the administrator of the usernamelookup.com service. You can reach the administrator at [email protected]. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms, the acceptable use policy and the privacy policy.

2. The service

UsernameLookup checks whether a username has a public profile on supported sites, checks the availability of names on platforms and domain extensions, and on higher plans provides history, reports, evidence snapshots, monitoring of lookalike accounts, alerts and an API. The service checks public profile addresses only and does not sign in to third party platforms.

3. Accounts

  • You must be an adult and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you may act for it.
  • An account is confirmed with a code sent to your email. Keep your password and API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and workspace.
  • Workspace administrators manage members, roles, billing and API keys for that workspace.

4. Demo and plans

There is no free plan. A visitor can run one demo lookup that shows part of the result. Everything else requires a paid subscription. Plans, prices and limits are listed on the pricing page and are part of these terms.

5. Subscriptions and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time in the billing portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Upgrading to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing charges the prorated difference immediately. The new plan becomes active once that payment succeeds. Downgrades take effect without a refund of the difference.
  • A workspace has one active subscription. Changing plans happens on that subscription.
  • Payments are processed by a payment processor with 3D Secure authentication. Prices are shown before payment, including applicable taxes where required.
  • If a renewal payment fails, paid features may be paused until the payment succeeds.

6. Usage limits

Each plan includes limits such as lookups, availability checks, monitored names, bulk list size and API calls per month. Limits count usage in the current billing period. Deleting a lookup, a monitor, a result or any other record does not give back used quota. Quotas reset at the start of the next billing period. Rate limits per minute apply per account and per IP address.

7. Refunds

Refunds are provided where statutory rights require them, for example a consumer's right of withdrawal where it applies and has not expired by the start of the service at your request. Other payments are not refundable. To request a refund under statutory rights, write to [email protected].

8. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy is part of these terms. In particular, you may not use the service to stalk, harass, dox or profile private persons, to bypass the opt-out list, to scrape the service or to resell raw results.

9. Your content and results

Case notes, lists and other content you add stay yours. You give us the rights needed to store and process them to provide the service. Results consist of public signals from third party sites. You are responsible for how you use them and for complying with the law that applies to you.

10. Suspension and termination

  • You can close your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, puts the service or other people at risk, or is used unlawfully. Payments for accounts terminated for abuse are not refunded.
  • After termination, workspace data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

11. Disclaimers

Results are public signals, not identity verification. A profile with the same username on two sites may belong to different people, and a "likely same person" score is an indication based on public elements, not proof. A name marked free may still be reserved or unavailable on a platform. Sites change without notice, so some checks return unknown. The service is provided as available, and we do not guarantee that every site can be checked at every moment.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the administrator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or decisions you make based on results. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights.

13. Changes to the service and terms

We improve the service over time. We may update these terms, and material changes are announced to account holders by email before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel before it applies.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the administrator's seat, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes go to the competent courts under those laws.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms go to [email protected].
