public profiles / links and likely same person score
Find social media accounts by username
To find social media accounts by username, search the handle once and get back every public profile that uses it, each with a working link. UsernameLookup checks 300+ public sites and adds a likely same person score so you can tell related profiles from namesakes.

Every public profile behind one handle
You have a handle, maybe from a comment, a support ticket or a partner proposal, and you want to see where else it shows up in public. Searching each network by hand works for three sites and breaks down at thirty.
A lookup requests the profile address of the handle on every site in the catalog and keeps only the ones that answer with a real profile. The result is a short list you can work through: site name, the exact public address, and how quickly the site replied.
Profiles that are slow or ambiguous are listed separately as unknown, so the found list stays clean and you never chase a false lead.
How the likely same person score is built
A handle is not unique across the internet. The score helps you decide which found profiles probably belong together. It is deterministic, built from what the public pages themselves show, and every point comes with a reason you can check.
The name shown on the profile is the same on two or more found profiles. A display name that only repeats the handle itself does not count, because it proves nothing.
The profile pictures are compared by a fingerprint of the image file. The identical picture on two networks is a strong hint that one person runs both.
One found profile links to another found profile, for example a bio link from a video channel to a code repository under the same handle.
| Signal | Points | Most from this signal | Reason shown to you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same display name | 15 per extra profile | 40 | The shared name and the sites where it appears |
| Identical profile picture | 20 per extra profile | 40 | How many profiles share the picture, and which ones |
| Links between profiles | 10 per linked pair | 30 | How many public links connect the found profiles |
| Fewer than two profiles found | 0 | 0 | Nothing to compare, so the score stays at zero |
The total is capped at 100. A high score means the public profiles point at each other strongly. A low score does not prove two people are different, it only means their public pages share nothing we can measure.
The score and reasons are included from the Investigator plan up.
Turning found profiles into a decision
-
step 1
Search the exact handle
Paste it as you saw it. Dots, underscores and hyphens count, so "marta.codes" and "marta_codes" are two different searches.
-
step 2
Read the score
Start with the profiles that link to each other or share a profile picture. They form the core of the public footprint.
-
step 3
Open and read
Every row is a link. Check whether the profile is active, what it posts about and whether it fits the context you started from.
-
step 4
Keep what matters
Export the list as CSV on Pro and above, or keep it in your history and run the handle again later to see what changed.
If you want to compare two runs of the same handle over time, the reverse username lookup shows history and a diff between runs. Investigators who need case notes and evidence snapshots should read about OSINT username search. To check a single network in depth, try the Instagram username search.
What a lookup will not do
Finding accounts by username means finding public profiles, nothing more. The tool is built for brand checks, creator research and trust and safety work, and its limits are part of the design.
-
No private data
We never sign in to networks, read private accounts, direct messages or anything behind a login.
-
No identity claims
The score says how strongly public profiles connect to each other. It does not say who runs them.
-
Opt-out honoured
Anyone can ask for a public profile to be excluded from results, and the exclusion stays in place.
-
Acceptable use
Stalking, harassment and doxxing are forbidden by our acceptable use policy and lead to account closure.
Finding accounts on each plan
Your first search is a one-time demo that shows the first 8 found profiles with links. Pro unlocks every found profile and CSV export with 300 lookups a month. Investigator adds the likely same person score, bulk searches of up to 100 handles and 2,000 lookups a month. Plans start at $24 a month billed yearly, see pricing for the full table. Profiles can be excluded on the opt-out page.
Questions about finding accounts by username
How do I find social media accounts by username?
Enter the username in the search box. UsernameLookup requests the public profile address of that name on 300+ sites and lists every profile that answers, with a direct link, the response time and the date it was first seen.
Does a match mean the accounts belong to the same person?
No. Two people can pick the same handle on different networks. That is why the result includes a likely same person score from 0 to 100 with the reasons behind it, so you can see which profiles share a display name, an avatar or links to each other.
Which plan includes the likely same person score?
The score and its reasons are part of the Investigator plan and the plans above it. Pro shows every found profile with links and lets you export the list as CSV.
Can you find accounts that use a different username?
A lookup starts from one exact handle. If you know variations, such as the same name with an underscore or a number, run each variation as its own search, or paste up to 100 of them at once on the Investigator plan.
Can someone remove their profile from results?
Yes. Anyone can request that a public profile is excluded from results through the opt-out page. We process those requests and keep the exclusion for future searches.
